A Magnificent, Magnificent Ten!
The bluest of skies, the brightest sunshine, stunning countryside, awesome marshalls and 229 fabulous runners converged at 10am for the start of the second, Oundle Magnficent Ten.
Leaving Lyveden at 10am, runners made their way across fields, forest paths, woodland, meadows, farmers tracks (sorry!) country lanes, a lovely downhill through the fields and finally a gentle effort through the woods to the finish! Crowded with spectators, runners received a warm welcome as they headed towards the finish line.
Leading the way was James Mogridge (Yaxley Runners) with a new course record of 34.23! James was followed by Phil Martin (Bushfield Joggers) and Alex Hampson (Nene Valley Harriers). The first lady to reach the finish post in a time of 44.44, also breaking the course record, was Sam Cullen (Eye Community Runners), followed by Roslyn Loutit (Yaxley Runners) and Claire Maxted (Stamford Striders). Huge congratulations to this speedy lot!
Following the race, we have received heaps of positive comments about the race, we love to hear from you so please get in touch with any comments you have, anything you liked, anything you didn't like. It all helps us to make the event as good as we can.
Finally, Outlaw would like to say a massive thank you to all of you who ran, to our great marshall crew, to our sponsors UPL, to Waitrose for their great goody bags, to Ice Power and Bounce for their goodies, to Sweatshop Peterborough for their race numbers and discount vouchers and to the National Trust and fabulous staff at Lyveden New Bield who provide free entry and a beautiful venue for us to host the race at.
